As Scotland enters into week 8 of ‘lockdown’, I am pulled in two contradictory directions. The first one is thinking how utterly long and tedious days became and the morning dread of how to keep the household members entertained. The other is I am actually beginning to enjoy it as I have finally begun to navigate my/ our way to discovering new activities.
Enter my old friend Kettlebells. Shock horror.
Small, thirty minute workouts that I can do while the little humans can play or even join in with (with their own little 1kg weights) has been hilarious and an easy cardio if my one lucky outting of exercise has been taken up by a walk with the kiddos (which is 99% of the time).
Pilates has been a welcome constant in our house, though I am regularly used as a climbing frame during many exercises, much to the amusement of many.
Watch this space where I will soon begin posting 5 minute Pilates workouts that you can fit throughout your day. Lockdown or no lockdown.
