A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of completing a few courses to add to my Pilates training knowledge.
The two courses were superbly insightful and I have already starting implementing the knowldege in class.
The first course specialised in Pilates for Golfers (or any asymmetrical sport really). It was truly fascinating to discover the tension and release required and also how to identify the different shots being taken by both amateur and professional golfers. Regardless of whether a person plays golf, the techniques on analysing body placement will significantly benefit my lovely clients!
The second course was for Pre- and- Post Hip Operations. Despite almost fainting upon watching a hip replacement (it was only on the close for some reason!?) I absolutely loved the course and cannot help be astounded at how superb our bodies are and science for tweaking them to last decades longer. Bones, bones, bones and how wonderful they are. From this course I have trained further to identify any hip (and knee/ feet/ pelvic) issues and work closely with Dr's and physiotherapists to assist in the pre-habilitation and rehabilitation of those with 'hip blips'!
